I have, as a pt, experienced the leper feeling or that I am slightly off with my two lost pregnancies. You are getting no through loss as are many around you. We must acknowledge this. Even the dr. Needs a kind approach.

Great post that will support progression towards care excellence.

I recommend Resolve Through Sharing, the gold standard for perinatal bereavement care (RTS), Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA) and the newly adopted position statement from National Perinatal Association (NPA) as resources for parents, nurses, CNM, social workers, chaplains, physicians, medical students, residents and all professionals or lay people providing support to women and families experiencing miscarriage and stillbirth. Also, The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization as a resource for families and care providers when there is a fetal diagnosis that may require perinatal palliative care.

I remember when my sister had a miscarriage. I had never seen such grief between her and her boyfriend. Although I was younger then, I could see how it changed them and how important it was to be a listening ear.

I would also refer nurses and professionals to Resolve Through Sharing (RTS) for excellent educational/training programs and resources as well as the Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance- PLIDA.
